Research article: Is caste bar for Padma Awards?
Padma series award is a country’s highest civilian award for who are working in different areas. Padma Awards were instituted in the year 1954. Except for brief interruption during the years 1977 and 1980 and 1993 to 1997, these awards have been announced every year on Republic Day. The award is given in three categories, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.
• Padma Shri is awarded for ‘distinguished service (fourth degree honor)
• Padma Bhushan for ‘distinguished service of a high order (Third degree honor)
• Padma Vibhushan for ‘exceptional and distinguished service (Second degree honor)
India is big country in sub-continent there are thousands of castes and sub-caste people living. There is gross amount of discrimination on the basis caste. From 26th January 1950 people of India are living under the umbrella of constitution. Everywhere is debate on our democracy that India is world biggest democracy but there are lots of odds within our systems. Although marginalized section of people still living malign area, remote parts of country, bank of rivers, bounded lab our, and slum they belong to SC, ST and other backward classes people.
Our people facing all these kinds of problems and resulting better output rather than others who are living in better position. Padma award is gifting to those persons who have no credibility. The Padma awards have lost their importance today. Last 62 years, all Padma awards have gone to one particular caste only. There are no single Dalit, Adivasi, farmer is there in the list of this year's awardees.
Many capitalists are being awarded continuously since 1954, and they have no role to solve the populous class issues and problems. All factories' workers have poor positions they are suffering from wage issues and lack of health facilities. The most prominent companies of India posthumously have awarded by Padma award. In India business tycoon easily has got Padma award but farmers are far away from the civilian award. A farmer is working day-night in the field and wasteland areas as well for graining crops for us. There are discriminations to the hard-working people who are devoted foe nation developments.
Music and Arts
Every year filmy actor gets a Padma award without any contribution for nation development. Everybody knows about Bollywood, there are all doors shut up for SC, ST and OBC. There are only some particular caste title Heroes, Heroines, and others working as huge amount. There are some families tied up within Bollywood. All holding belong to some particular family only and they are also willing to join politics from back doors. Hundreds of artists and directors have got Padma award they belong to upper caste people only.
With Anupam Kher, Madhur Bhandarkar, Malini Awasthi among eminent Padma awardees for this year, these are related to support in Favour of ruling class in the country. There is one famous hero of Indian cinema also got Padma shri because of election campaigning. The nepotism doesn’t end here in India; it has had its say in various sports awards as well. Sachin Tendulkar has got Bharat Ratna but Major Dhayanchand still in pending because of their background.
In 2015, no Padma award for Dalits, only one Padma Shri for OBC, 2 Padma Bhusan & 1 Padma Shri for minorities and 10 out of 10 Padma Vibhushan goes to Upper Castes. Only 19 women got Padma award out of 131. The Tribal is fully out of list from this year Padma award. Before this year discriminations have occurred continuously with these castes of group. There are hard hitting discussion on social media regarding actors got Padma award.
Moreover, there are lots of odds in our system which is a poison to destroying the law of the land. There is need to work removal of odds from our ruling power then deprived sections of people will come. Today everywhere debate on equal representation from all section of our society. Whenever Dalit, Tribal, OBC will not came in system as per their population till then problems will unsolved. That’s why government should work transparently for betterment of all sections of people in our country. Our ruling leader always talks about development and corruption free country, but work doesn’t visible still. There are marginalized sections of student suffering from lots of problems and issues in different part of the country. The Tribal, Dalit and OBC are treated as still backward people in the country, this kind of thinking is also key burning issues in the society.
